Discord is a cool application which you can download here. Its like Skype and TS put together and times by 10 with a few small elements like steam with showing which game you are playing.​

Running a TS server costs about 11 cents per week.

My personal experience with Discord was pretty bad. Had non-stop disconnects, problems with mics and the permission system is annoyingly complex. I tried it about 2 years ago though, when it came to live to these specifics might have improved by then but I still think TS is better for voice communication.
