This thread is as thorough a collection of events far preceeding most of you I believe. Right now it's hidden and only viewable to a select few, but once we get the ball rolling and edit in an extensive enough list, I'll make it public and post it around for more people to read and contribute to it. Like abii's guild list, i don't think a collection of events this early on is posted anywhere else so why not make one.
START
June 9th 2013 - Feng Publishes the attack on titan tribute game on his website. The game is very different to what we have now with just grey boxes for buildings and no special moves or gas propulsion. Titans are beige blobs with melted faces that form pyramids of titans stacked on top of each other because of a bug and no collision logic. Single wire only too. When striking the nape of a titan, a HALLELUJAH sound effect is played, which is more a comedic Easter egg that was removed in later versions. [Add video]
June 22nd 2013 - In the ancient times of early aottg, it took not even two weeks for Feng to already roll out an update with many features and bug fixes. This time around we see the addition of a 2nd wire to make navigation through the still grey cardboard-box-looking buildings, a special ability for the at-that-time only playable character (Mikasa) - the chop skill, and a few resolved bugs.
June 29th 2013 - A whole 7 days have passed since the last update and viola, Feng is here to serve us another one filled with content. In this update, abberant titans were added (because the game was soooo easy apparently)
July 7th 2013 - The first *real* map is introduced, City 1. Not to be confused with the current city map, this one was far less HD and featured the filling station at the center-most building. Character abilities were also improved, giving players the ability to jump and dodge, as well as be smoother to control.
July 14th 2013 - Feng updates the character models, making them less polygonal eyesore and more cute chibis, as well as adds a 2nd playable character Levi. This design then stayed almost unchanged until today.
July 29th 2013 - As characters didn't have any cooldown on their skills, Levi's skill kinda broke the game a little, so skill cooldowns were introduced in this update. Another addition was another playable character Armin. Notable gameplay features added were the backflip as well as wall running. A day prior, a smaller update was released mostly fixing bugs but also heavily messing up the game's gravity, however, due to negative feedback and complains from the playerbase, the gravity was reverted in this update.
August 25th 2013 - The first *real* game-changing update for the game: LAN multiplayer. After almost 2 months the game blew up significantly as players could finally cooperate and play on the same map together. There were still no dedicated multiplayer servers though, so the fanbase had to improvise and play via alternative means such as port forwarding, making a hamachi server or through the Evolve multiplayer protocol. This update also introduced the saving of a grabbed player by killing the titan before it eats them.
Oct 2013 - NODE start posting letsplay videos on youtube where they play the game on their LAN parties with a very high production value, incorporating their personalities, multiple face-cam shots and above-average editing into the mix.
